About Our Farm
Located in Etta, Mississippi
At Tiny Cow Farm, everything we do began with one little cow and a whole lot of heart. Our story started slowly, with a dream to raise our animals from tiny bottle calves to happy, healthy mommas in the pasture. We wanted to know every step of their journey: how they were raised, treated, and cared for and the farms where they were born.
It all began with Charlsie, my very first Highland cow. She came to me during a season of big life changes, a time when I had to step back from my work and focus on my health. That summer, my parents surprised me with the most beautiful birthday gift … a tiny, dun Highland calf who stole my heart completely. I had dreamed of Highland cows for many years and this was the sweetest addition to our operating farm. We named her Charlsie, after the small town ‘Charleston’ in Mississippi – she started our unique tradition of naming and is the reason every cow, bull, and calf born on our farm carries a piece of Mississippi in their name.
Charlsie was more than just a cow. She was comfort and companionship wrapped up in a furry little package. The one who followed me around, curled up in my lap, and even spent time inside the house. She brought a kind of therapy I didn’t even know I needed. These cows are such loving, social animals and before long, a few more tiny calves joined her as they are herd animals and we wanted to provide her with a few friends.
Over the years, our family has spent endless hours and time nurturing our herd and watching our Tiny Cows grow up next to us. We have grown our small farm to 20 Highlands & HighParks, including several select bulls. As we have let them grow up slow, some of our first calves we raised are now welcoming babies of their own, right where they grew up.
It has taken time, years of patience, care, and watching the seasons change … but our dream of raising these beautiful animals and meeting their own babies has come full circle. We hope you will pull up a chair and reach out with any questions! Our family is here to connect you with the perfect Tiny Cow for your home, farm, and family.
